JOB SCOPE:

We are looking for Video Engineer IV to support a large scale hybrid infrastructure comprising of cloud, both local and shared platform services, and hardware within a 24x7 production environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead team initiatives and mentor other team members
  • Responsible for specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24x7 environments
  • Will work as part of a distributed engineering team
  • Create automation for operationalizing production environments
  • Troubleshoot common and uncommon problems related to the company’s flag ship product, Spectrum Guide.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of Unix/Linux Engineering experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with various video components
  • At least four (4) years of experience with a OO programming language

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working with UNIX and Linux operating systems; specifically troubleshooting and providing administration.
  • Experience performing operations tasks within video components given from third parties; Transport Stream Broadcaster (TSB), Advanced Message Solution (AMS), Active Video Stack, or others
  • Experience with performing support and administrative tasks within VM Ware, OpenStack, or other cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Proficient in scripting and one or more programming languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with Infrastructure provisioning tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Cloud Formation.
  • Experience reviewing and writing MOPs
  • The ability to write technical documentation to be referenced by technical peers in a knowledge base
  • The ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with people with diverse technical skills
  • Well versed in configuration management tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of engineering background
  • Production experience in Operations
  • Experience with Machine Learning, or linear regression analysis
  • CCNA or higher
