THE ENVIRONMENT Spectrum News is a 24-hour breaking news network which requires employees who are flexible and available to work various shift, including early morning, late evenings, weekends and holidays.

A Spectrum Networks Sports Producer is responsible for producing daily half-hour evening sportscast, including live show production. Lead editorial planning meetings, foster collaboration among sports, news and production teams, coordinate assignments with MMJs and videographers, instill creativity in sportscasts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize and execute daily sportscast under deadline
Use digital content management system (Dalet) to produce content for both sports and news
Make decisions on sportscast lineup, in collaboration with colleagues
Write content and edit non-linear video, ensuring accuracy and quality
Design and coordinate graphics
Collaborate with news teams in Tampa and Orlando on sports coverage for news channel newscasts
Plan next day sports assignments
Write web content via CMS
Produce special programming as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or comparable television work experience preferred
3+ years Television news experience
Experience producing daily sports or newscasts
Demonstrated creativity in producing engaging and memorable television
Ability to work under deadline pressure, while maintaining flexibility to adjust as news breaks
Strong interest and knowledge of sports, with extra understanding of sports most important to
viewers in both the Tampa and Orlando markets
Must be able and willing to work evening and weekend shifts and be flexible with schedule changes
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Strong broadcast writing ability
Ability to anticipate situations and meet strict deadlines
Interpersonal skills and excellent collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and interact with all personnel within the organization Attention to detail
Knowledge of social media platforms
Must be able to work rapidly and accurately
Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software and basic non-linear
