JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Mgr, Software Development position in the Billing group is responsible for planning and implementing software for integration with the billing systems. The Sr Mgr, Software Development is responsible for day to day management of software development teams in all facets of hiring, performance management and growth opportunities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages teams of software developers responsible for quality and timely execution of delivery.

Presents proposed solutions and reports status to upper management.

Organizes and delegates work to various levels of software developers.

Implements software proposals and estimates scope of work.

Ensures adequate project documentation is created on projects.

Makes decisions and solves problems while working under pressure.

Prioritizes and organizes load of work; effectively manages resource management.

Provides coaching and counseling when necessary.

Supervises and motivates others.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Great understanding of software engineering and object oriented design principles
Strong communication skills
Great and current development experience with IBM iSeries platform, CL, RPGLE, Sequel, and Java
Good ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
Good experience with dependency management and continuous integration testing tools, change management and audit/compliance requirements

Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Leadership experience 3-5

Experience with Java, .NET and web technologies
