Design and manage advanced level critical infrastructure technical processes to ensure reliable and efficient operation of critical electrical, HVAC systems, and mechanical equipment. Evaluates reports and develops plans to correct system anomalies of the critical infrastructure. Develops approaches to reduce cost and improve energy efficiency of critical electrical and mechanical equipment. Project manages large facility expansion projects on time and within budget. Mentor entry to junior level Critical infrastructure Resiliency Engineers.
Shift Requirements: 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.; Tuesday - Saturday

  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Manage the design, specification, and definition of requirements for equipment to ensure efficient operation
  • Define solutions per requirements, system design and working with system integrator partners to implement and test design solutions for moderate to complex CI projects.
  • Mentor entry to junior level Critical Infrastructure Engineers
  • Independently assess moderate to complex troubleshooting and emergency situations at a datacenter for controls/monitoring domain of expertise
  • Maintain and manage changes to system design requirements and interface documents to prevent outages due to work on the systems
  • Identify any vulnerabilities and deficiencies in the design and resolve any issues in partnership with the design and construction teams
  • Participate in and lead the design and specification, establishment and maintenance of global standards and provide consulting, training, and support to data center operations
  • Review engineering drawings and documents on new construction and capital upgrade projects to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Assist in the build out of new facilities and in projects to increase current data center efficiency on time and within budget
  • Develop Method of Procedures (MOPs) outlining workflow processes designed to isolate system components to protect personnel, equipment, and prevent system outages during routine preventative and remedial maintenance and installation of facility systems
  • Manage vendors to include preparing scope of work, scheduling service and supervising contractors to ensure safe work practices to protect critical systems and verify adherence to Method of Procedure (MOP)
  • Assist in the repair and replacement of critical electrical and mechanical devices
  • Partner with Data Center Services (DCS) teams, engineers, architects, and operations team to review upcoming implementation and strategies to ensure proper power availability and usage.
  • Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate medium to large sized projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Identify and report system anomalies of the critical infrastructure

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and best practices associated with the operation, repair, and maintenance of each system
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specification documents
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical/mechanical systems and related devices
  • Familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Center critical environments such as electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, chillers, CRAC, and CRAH units, fire detection and suppression systems and critical control and monitoring system
  • Good attention to detail for accurate documentation
  • In-depth knowledge of Data Center capacity planning, trending, and reporting
  • Demonstrated expertise in operation of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including multiple types of Uninterruptible Power, Systems, Emergency Power Systems, water-cooled and air-cooled air conditioning systems, critical data center electrical and mechanical distribution systems, and monitoring systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of various redundancy configurations of critical infrastructure and their associated limitations
  • Advanced and demonstrated knowledge and expertise in mission critical construction electrical work methods, craftsmanship, and assembly methods that enables a high degree of quality control inspections
  • Demonstrated ability to determine event root causes, performance shortfalls and required corrective actions
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering or an equivalent combination of skills, professional training, certification, and experience
