Spectrum Reach is seeking an experienced video engineer to join our Advanced Monitoring Team. The AMT is cross-functional team that provides Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for the resolution of outages and service impairments in a 24x7x365 operations of our Advanced Advertising Products. The successful candidate will partner closely with Corporate NOC and VSC teams as well as the Spectrum Reach Advanced Ad Ops teams to drive all issues to resolution.

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
  • Provide systems and applications support for complex, high-reliability systems and architectures supporting video services or back-offices
  • Providing Tier 2 support for all Advanced Advertising products within Charter Communications
  • Proactively communicate with Product and Operational teams as necessary to resolve issues, modify processes, and establish requirements for new workflows related to tech issues
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis of complex nature; identify and resolve technical issues related to ad server technology and/or ad tag implementations for both clients and internal teams
  • Escalate necessary issues to higher tiered Engineer and work collaboratively to resolve issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience performing application configuration, programming, installation, and maintenance within a Systems Administration capacity
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Unix/Linux and/or Windows based client/server systems and applications
  • Must be willing to join an after-hours on-call rotation
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and workflows
  • Have sense of urgency and strong ability to prioritize tasks, be self-motivated, and able to effectively manage time and priorities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Proactively communicate with Product and Operational teams as necessary to resolve issues, modify processes, and establish requirements for new workflows related to tech issues
  • Advanced knowledge in using ticketing and related software tools to support the current operations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. ad insertion applications, work processing spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Experience in working with SPLUNK a plus
  • General understanding of end to end cable of technologies including Video On-Demand, Dynamic Ad Insertion, Set Top Box video delivery, IP based video delivery, Adaptive Bit Rate encoding (HLS, HSS, DASH, MPEG4) and linear Ad Insertion
  • Familiarity with available transaction types (CPM, ROI etc.)
  • Familiarity with digital technologies (ad server logic, redirects, 3rd party tags) a plus
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting campaign set-ups, tag generation, and delivery issues a plus
  • Familiarity with DoubleClick, FreeWheel MRM, or other relevant ad serving technologies
  • Experience with ad servers or DSPs
  • Experience creating ad tags and test campaigns using IP-based ad servers and UIs
