JOB SUMMARY
Assist in the design and management of critical infrastructure technical processes to ensure reliable and efficient operation of critical electrical, HVAC systems, and mechanical equipment. Participate in developing approaches to reduce cost and improve energy efficiency of critical electrical and mechanical equipment. Ensure contractors follows created Method of Performance (MOP) for work performed on the critical electrical, HVAC systems, and mechanical equipment.
Shift Requirements: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm and 11:00 pm to 7:00 am - 2 week rotation schedule
On call rotation

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Perform activities to ensure reliability of the critical electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment to include inspection and testing of mechanical and electrical equipment, including electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, chillers, CRAC and CRAH units, fire detection and suppression systems and critical control and monitoring systems
  • Develop Method of Procedures (MOPs) outlining workflow processes designed to isolate system components to protect personnel, equipment, and prevent system outages during routine preventative and remedial maintenance and installation of facility systems
  • Manage vendors to include preparing scope of work, scheduling service and supervising contractors to ensure safe work practices to protect critical systems and verify adherence to Method of Procedure (MOP)
  • Assist in the repair and replacement of critical electrical and mechanical devices
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical systems are in compliance with the building codes and all other applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations
  • Partner with Data Center Services (DCS) teams, engineers, architects, and operations team to review upcoming implementation and strategies to ensure proper power availability and usage.
  • Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate small sized projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Assist in the build out of new facilities and in projects to increase current data center efficiency on time and within budget
  • Assist in identifying and reporting system anomalies of the critical infrastructure
  • Provides hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes and best practices associated with the operation, repair, and maintenance of each system
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specification documents
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems and related devices
  • Familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Data Center critical environments such as electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, chillers, CRAC, and CRAH units, fire detection and suppression systems and critical control and monitoring system
  • Good attention to detail for accurate documentation
  • Knowledge of Data Center capacity planning, trending, and reporting

Education
Associate's degree in Engineering, trade school certification or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field (e.g. apprentice program, manufacture technical training, etc.) or combination of skills, professional training, certification, and experience

Related Work Experience
2 years Electrical or mechanical experience, chiller service technician, HVAC service technician journeyman electrician, Manufactures service technician
2 years Building Management System or Electrical Power Management Systems
2 years Data Center or other critical site experience
