The Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO oversee the design and architecture of Charter’s multi-billion dollar network infrastructure. We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.
JOB SUMMARY The criticality of our Data Science and Data Engineering operation continues to grow, our need to build out our Analytics Operations and Use and reliance on data assets and model-based intelligence generated by DSDE have increased significantly. This position will be responsible for establishing and managing service level agreements for stakeholders and internal consumer, transitioning systems for high availability operations, expanding support for critical consumers and stakeholders, support the expansion of new functionality and distributed data collection and processing operations and extending ML/AI Ops to include distributed model operations and model governance. This director will continue building the vision and manage a team of senior-level resources.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support Data Science And Data Engineering analytics driven efforts to enhance the customer experience
Support, enhance, and extend critical DSDE data collection, governance, and model operations platforms.
Lead a team Responsible for 24/7 support of core engineering data focused platforms.
Work with large volume, heterogeneous data sets
Understand operational business use cases and be able to translate them to operationally focused analytics based initiatives.
Clearly communicate the benefits of analytics solutions to business, technical, and scientific audiences
Design, build, and extract large and complex data sets while thinking strategically about uses of data and how it drives organizational goals and optimizations
Lead the onboarding and processing of new data sources or new uses of existing data sources
Use operational research techniques to define the implementation of analytics driven solutions
Collaborate on a cross functional basis with other analytics and operational groups.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Strong team player Must be self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work with minimum supervision Intellectually curious and a systemic thinker Outstanding interpersonal, communication and customer relationship skills – able to work effectively with customers from development, operations, and senior leadership Proficient in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms
Understanding and experience is building and managing operational production data focused systems and platforms Understand the design and implementation of data warehousing, relational databases, and post relational databases Passionate about data quality control, governance, and all other important data analysis platforms Well versed with the Internet, emerging web, communications and big data technologies Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy Strong interpersonal communication, verbal and written, relationship management, and customer service skills, with a focus on working effectively in a team environment Ability to use MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PP, Access, Visio) Exceptional writing, presentation and data visualization skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive data
Related Work Experience / Number of Years Experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of complex real time production level platforms and systems 10+ years
Experience with Data big data focused ingestion, distribution, model operations, and governance systems 5+ Years Work with operations automation systems – 5+ Years
Education MS in Computer Science, Operations Research, AI, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Analysis or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Extensive skills and experience in telecommunications, cable, or utility industry Extensive knowledge of building and usage of prescriptive and predictive models as well as optimization algorithms Experience with large scale Snowflake, Kafka, and DataRobot environments Understanding model-based operations systems and processes Past experience in the implementation of DevOps systems and processes
Related Work Experience Extensive experience in advanced operational analytics

The pay for this position has a minimum of $120,700.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
