This position is part of the Charter Software Engineering CPE Video Team that manages teams in the design, development and implementation of video systems and applications. This is a mulit-tier design/development & support manager that interacts with Supply Chain, Video Product & Video Operations Teams to provide video solutions and tier 4 support for escalated issues. This role will be interfacing with CPE manufacturers, Legacy Guide Providers as well as 3rd Party Application Development Teams to determine design and development requirements while prioritizing system development activities. This individual will also assist in resolving escalated system and customer issues. Duties will include point of escalation of technical issues and providing configuration guidance on video system maintenance best practices.

Manages a highly technical engineering team, delegating technical responsibilities and monitors the progress of projects. Work closely with various team members during all phases of the development lifecycle

Provide guidance and insight to upper management and procures buy-in on all development activites. Reports progress, including any changes made to plans and production implementations

Oversee and provides input into development and QA testing and reviews test report results, adjusting test requirements as needed. Acts as escalation point for lab issues

Reviews all work produced by the development team and ensures code produced meets company standards

Knowledge of legacy cable video systems/architectures and STB client software and firmware

Proven ability to analyze system issues, identify appropriate fixes and leverage internal and external teams to improve/fix the system

Ability to understand current and future product needs and customer expectations, translate to system requirements and develop work plans with cross-domain teams to ensure solutions are developed, tested and deployed

Understanding of system and software architecture concepts in order to integrate products into existing field systems

Ability to work with and lead cross functional teams including Product, Operations, IT, Care, etc. Set user expectations

Working knowledge of documentation tools like JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, etc. to track issues and defects efficiently

Strong ability to communicate engineering details effectively with non-technical audiences through both oral and written presentations.

Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards, Implementation Playbooks and develops and approved methods of procedure

Works on projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding video systems planning, configuration and optimization

Provides escalated tier support across organizations and to third party vendors

Works on one or more projects as a project team member, often as a project team lead
Coaches less experienced staff

Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable

Know, understand and follow company policy

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

Skills / Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to manage internal, external and overseas technical teams
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Knowledge of company products and services

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
Professional level certification or equivalent work experience
Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)

Related Work Experience
5+ years of Engineering or Operations Video Engineering experience
5-10+ years management experience of at least 10 team members

Office Environment
May work in Lab environment
Occasional travel as required

The pay for this position has a minimum of $101600. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as commissions or bonuses.
