The Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO oversee the design and architecture of Charter’s multi-billion dollar network infrastructure. We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for directing and managing the software development staff that enhances Charter’s provisioning systems for activation of internet services via DOCSIS/DPOE devices as well as the software code that manages DHCP scopes and prefixes for CPE. Implement and enhance consistent software engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery that is aligned with company initiatives and expectations. Support operations including technical services, code upgrades, and field issues. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and assist with business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product planning, deployment and support.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Leads an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.

Provides engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.

Leads management of software development for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.

Directs quality assurance programs for software development, software solutions, and 3rd party provisioning systems.

Evaluates, in conjunction with all levels of leadership, third party software solutions, code architecture, technical operations, planning of releases, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment.

Ensures current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with Federal Communication Commission Standards.

Oversees the maintenance of records as required by the Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies.

Ensures adherence to company TQA policies.

Leads and participates in succession planning.

Performs other duties as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Advanced knowledge of current software development agile methodologies and practices
Ability to drive multiple projects and tasks
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to supervise and motivate others
Ability to organize and delegate work to various levels of management and software developers
Experience leading or managing teams that have successfully delivered software using Java and web technologies
Extensive knowledge of open-source software such as Spring, Hibernate, Apache Commons, Tomcat
Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations
Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state

Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
