The purpose of this job is to safeguard Charter’s facilities, employees and visitors by maintaining a high visibility presence while providing exceptional customer service and assistance to its employees and visitors to the location. This role will be responsible for conducting unarmed patrol of the location(s) on foot and/or in a vehicle, monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, access points and permitting entry. This job is responsible for preventing loss and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet, process and provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
Sound alarms and/or notify first responders (police, fire, and rescue) in case of emergency or presence of unauthorized persons
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate requirements
Investigate and prepare reports on physical security incidents and suspicious activities
Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Team oriented
Consistently displays a professional and positive attitude
Must be at least 21 years old
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Must have access to reliable transportation
Current AED and CPR certification
Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
Active listening skills
Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
Attention to detail
Ability to work varied shifts as necessary
Ability to successfully complete all training required for the position
Ability to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Prior law enforcement/military/fire service
Working Conditions
Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
