The Advanced Engineering department resides in the Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO and oversees the design and architecture of Charter’s multi-billion dollar network infrastructure. We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.

Collaborates with team members on various cloud technologies, and recommends hybrid cloud solutions. Works with various automation tools to automate the deployment of VM’s in a hybrid cloud. Works with various configuration management tools to manage a consistent state for VM’s. Interfaces with other teams to collect and define project requirements for automating and deploying their application or technology stack. Bridge the gap between various different organizations within Charter by leveraging automation tooling and concepts (AE, Ops, IT, etc.)

3-5yr experience with Linux Experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
3-5yr experience with configuration management experience
3-5yr experience with CI/CD Experience (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, etc.)
2-5yr experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
3-5yr experience using various scripting languages like Bash, Perl, Ruby, etc.
3-5yr experience with vSphere

Ability to adapt to the new software-driven technology with experience on virtual environments, software defined networks, hyper-converged systems, container technologies, micro services, API strategies, software development and scripting.
Designs standard patterned and custom IT solutions for business partner projects, including development of a testing plan.

Work related experience:
Must have a deep knowledge of the Linux OS. Windows knowledge is a plus.
Deployed applications in various different cloud environments.
Must be familiar with cloud provider technologies like AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
Must be familiar with vSphere, and other VMware technologies.
Must have a good working knowledge of automation technologies like Terraform.
Must have a good working knowledge of configuration management tools like Chef.
