TITLE: Principal Engineer II
LOCATION: Englewood, Colorado
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance the company’s telecommunications and signal processing hardware, software and electrical systems. Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience regarding CATV systems. Designs, implements, monitors, enhances, and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas (i.e. RF, Optical, HFC, power, mechanical, environmental, etc.). Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation. Use HFC and Optical topologies to design and analyze networks and network architectures. Use optical wave theory, DWDM, and CWDM to analyze optical communications processes. Work within the 5 MHz to 3 GHz RF spectrum. Perform project management, including creating, implementing, and overseeing short- and long-term projects. Perform product development on device and system levels. Test and review system designs. Manage new technologies and products through the qualification and product approval process. Actively participate in industry standards subcommittees, such as SCTE, NFPA, ANSI, and CableLabs. Lead and actively participate in company and industry initiatives, including the General Access Platform. Provide Engineering Technical support and guidance to operations teams and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards, and documentation are met. Mentor and guide the work of senior technical staff. Review work plans and designs and advise on improvements.
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering or a closely related field. 10 years of experience in designing network architecture using HFC and Optical topologies; using optical wave theory, DWDM, and CWDM for optical communications development; in RF communications, including in the 5 MHz to 3 GHz spectrum; and in project management, including creating, implementing, and overseeing short- and long-term projects. 5 years of experience in product development, including on device and system levels.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $131,685.00 to $213,900.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
