The Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO oversee the design and architecture of Charter’s multi-billion dollar network infrastructure. We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access.

Lead Individual contributor who responsible for the integration testing of 5G Mobile Wireless Core network. Responsible for setting up 5G System Integration testing lab, perform and certify E2E call flows for 5G core network and CBSD core functionality. Develop test strategy, test plans that ensure standards conformance, performance and stability of Charter’s 5G HMNO network ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Technologies include, SAS, CBSD, 5GC (AUSF, UDM, UDR, NRF, AMF, PCF, SMF, CHF, UPF), Virtualization, Routers, Gateways, and new technologies developed by key standards and committees.

Through understanding of 3GPP standards and specifications. Docker container orchestration via Kubernetes. Collaborate with Network Architecture, development and Product teams on business and technology requirements and assess vendor solutions to address the requirements. Contribute to technical operations, system design, configuration, and occasional training or escalations. This role is recognized as the technical and design expert who can demonstrate in-depth understanding Mobile Core, solving design problems, lead peer level and lower level technical staff.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Lead, validate and Certify Designs and implementation guides, MOPs and troubleshoot 5GC core network elements.
Knowledgeable in 5GC standards & interfaces and Call Processing interfaces (Nx) with Core. CBRS spectrum frequency and FFC requirements (3.5GHz).
Debugging experience on NSA and SA configurations.
Experience in handling 5G RAN components such as RRU, DU/CU for vRAN configuration. LTE/5G eNB/gNB Modem/Small cell functional and E2E integration testing that could impact business and/or the customer. Propose enhanced testing methods and develop test automation tools and framework. 
Provides a high level of Engineering technical support and guidance to immediate low level technical staff, operational personnel and ensure technical integration, changes, standards and documentation requirements met.
Reviews test plans, designs and advises on improvements. Plan and build test lab environments for functionality and performance testing.
Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Know, understand and follow company policy.

Skills / Abilities and Knowledge

Experience in 5G Core Network Architecture and interfaces. Should have excellent knowledge in Design & Troubleshoot 5G Mobile Wireless core Networks, LTE/5G eNB/gNB Modem/Small cell functional and integration testing. Must have experience in deploying Docker container orchestration via Kubernetes.
Automate test cases to cover Functional and Non-Functional and Regression test cases using automation framework.
Experience in 5G RAN components as RRU, DU/CU for vRAN configuration. Thorough understanding & Hands-on experience in testing 5G Core Network Elements. Well known CBRS spectrum frequency and FFC requirements (3.5GHz).
Able to prepare and lead 5G Core test strategy, test plan and test execution of new network uses cases.
Must have excellent problem solving, debugging and trouble shooting.
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Must have excellent knowledge with common LINUX operating systems and Python scripting. Knowledge in evaluating Network System Load and Performance tests.
Must have knowledge of various Network adjuncts and services i.e. AAA, RADIUS, Diameter, EAP, LTE, 5G, VoLTE, GRE, Soft GRE, L2TP. Experience using protocol communications test equipment and tools (protocol analyzers, LTE system simulators, analyzers and packet sniffers).
Must have knowledge of PCEF & PCRF architectures and standard practices.
Candidate needs to be skilled in the writing of technical test plans based on business requirements and detailed design documents. Outstanding interpersonal skills, oral and written communications skills, and advanced presentation skills.

Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and related field experience
Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred.
