Director, Video Platforms

Responsible for strategic direction and management of platform specific product development initiatives, development and maintenance of a platform’s backlog including, platform documentation, and release planning and support. Develops, documents and recommends innovative solutions for reporting of operational performance metrics, customer communication and notification, and competitive analysis. Implements and maintains web-based development best practices with modern frameworks and technology. Motivates team-members to be innovative and collaborative for product quality and new features. Must be passionate about changing how Charter’s customers consume our services, while caring deeply about improving the relationship that Charter has with its customers.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience across web-based video platforms.

Provide technical leadership and innovation to a cross functional team through the development, implementation and launch of new features.

Drive management of product lifecycle and roadmap for digital video platforms, supporting residential and commercial users.

Develop and enhance credibility with internal and external team members to direct planning and implementation, while driving deliverable timelines.

Define and manage platform backlog to ensure work is properly prioritized and delivered in a timely manner. Partner with stakeholders to delivery incremental value with experimentation.

Ensure the continuous delivery of the product vision for the platform.

Release and monitor customer-facing product enhancements that generate increased engagement, revenue growth and market penetration.

Prioritize the performance of video platforms, customer operational metrics, achievement of plan objectives, etc.

Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Possess technical knowledge of client-side and API development
Experience retaining, managing, and growing talented team to deliver high quality digital products in very aggressive timeframes
Knowledge of architecture, design and performance optimization of traditional and IP video streaming technologies
Experience managing internal and external vendors and customers to meet deadlines and initiatives
Data driven decision making and strong analytical skills
Demonstrated project management experience
Ability to manage multiple projects across a broad application portfolio simultaneously
Adaptability to manage through project priority and organizational changes
Ability to problem solve without escalation or with thoughtful recommendation when escalated
Ability to motivate, and manage cross-functional teams, influencing peers and leaders
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and quickly to meet changing demands
Ability to communicate effectively orally and electronically with multiple levels of management
Strong verbal and written presentation skills including use of Outlook, Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science; master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required

Related Work Experience
8+ years of Product development, product management experience
in telecommunications, software or web services or other related industries
5+ years of JavaScript/HTML development experience

The pay for this position has a minimum of $120,700.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
