JOB SUMMARY Responsible for directing and managing the Wireless R&D Engineering staff and technology development. Drive the Wireless R&D technology roadmap with stakeholders, I.E. product organization, engineering, Enterprise, and operations as well as vendors and MNO, MVNO, MVNE, and MSO partners. Implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery aligned with company initiatives and expectations. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and assist with business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product deployment and support.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible primarily for the research, development, architecture hands-on development as well as managing and leading teams for integration and evaluation of IIOT platforms and functions based on LORA and NBIoT and other IoT technologies. Collaborating with the Engineering and Product Development organizations, vendors, MSO partners and standards and policy organizations. Will drive proof of concept solution creation with main focus on the end-user devices and next generation e2e applications
Responsible for Wireless R&D related development , infrastructure and products working in close collaboration with other engineering organizations, product development organizations, enterprise, vendors, MNO, MVNE & MSO partners and standards and policy organizations
Develop and manage yearly budget for Charter’s wireless R&D engineering and technology development efforts and develops tools POCS, and processes core based testing, certification, on-going bug fixes, and operational support.
Assess new product requirements and develop technology solutions and architecture design to support them.
Take initiative in conducting research projects and investigation studies in IIoT and developing IIOT architecture
Participate in Defining system requirements, evaluate technologies and solutions
Support the development of systems based on Wi-Fi ,4G/5G, LoRAWAN, other WAN, PAN and provide technical support to operations.
Develop and validate new technology to include studying new technology trends, formulating impact statement of such technologies on Charter’s wireless core.
Validate the capabilities of such technologies through lab evaluation and possibly field trials.
Develops a long-term technology evolution roadmap (3-5 years) articulating the strategic decision points, technology evolution plan and recommendations with regard to Wireless technology.
Contribute and represent Charter in relevant industry and standards forums providing leadership with regards to Wireless Core technology evolution.
Intellectual Property creation, patent filing and promotion of such IP through the contribution to relevant standards and industry forums.
Assist with development of carrier grade Video and computer vision over Wi-Fi and 3GPP solutions.
Support other initiatives that may include improving network security, virus detection, and virtualization of network functions, along with new applications running on the Router to support new services that Product may request.
Support efforts to maximize the performance of Spectrum Wi-Fi (public Wi-Fi infrastructure), while protecting the performance and experience of users on their own private SSID and supports new wireless technologies for IoT activities to possibly include: 802.15.4, ZigBee, Thread, Weave, Bluetooth, 802.11ah, etc. and supports efforts related to RDK-B and CableLabs initiatives of interest.
Provide specific technical leadership as the subject matter expert in the following areas: Wireless technology strategy, Technology Solution strategy, Architecture evolution, Technology innovation
Analyze complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
Produce detailed timeline for each product release and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the status.
Review all designs, code and unit test plans where applicable and reviews and approves all business requirements prior to the technical solution.
Participate on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts.
Ensure financial assurance and alignment, monitors cost optimizations, and maintains continuous process improvements and efficiencies.
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Develop an effective front line Leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high performance culture and environment.
Lead an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.
Evaluates and consults with all levels of leadership regarding technical operations, strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment.
Education BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.

The pay for this position has a minimum of $101600. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
