Charter is seeking a Senior Director to join the Business Development team – partnering directly with the Vice President of Business Development who leads many of the financial modeling, analytics, research, and strategy assignments of the team.

The Business Development team is embedded within Charter’s Product organization (headquartered in Colorado) and is responsible for identifying, investigating and evaluating licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances in support of Charter’s Product, Engineering, Media and other organizations.

Business Development team members lead or assist in commerical negotiations, business strategy and operations matters; and are highly analytical and strategic, yet pragmatic and results-oriented.

The Senior Director of Business Development is responsible for autonomously defining and developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, driving analyses through advanced financial model development, normalizing complex data sets into key insights, crafting executive presentations through master story telling, and presenting insightful and actionable executive presentations.

S/he builds detailed models and performs regular financial, competitive, performance, insights and market analyses for the business to value comprehensively business opportunities and ensure well-founded strategies are presented to leadership.

More specifically:
• Build robust and easy-to-digest financial models with multiple scenarios used for evaluating deals and making other product development decisions
• Develop materials and present results in an insightful and clear manner facilitating executive decision making
• Provide business development support, including research activities and analysis – with a focus on supporting: video, mobile, internet, and the advanced advertising business units
• Review and evaluate business proposals from vendors, identifying opportunities for improvement and assisting with negotiation strategy
• Lead evaluation of projects through financial feasibility studies and research
• Prepare deal summaries and lead presentation development efforts for senior management
• Research new technologies and industry trends to better understand key market participants, business models, and the potential impact on Charter’s product development efforts – both on an ad hoc and recurring basis
• Partner cross-functionally with key internal departments (e.g., Product, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Programming)

• Strategic thinker with a fundamental understanding of cable and telecommunications products and services, including familiarity with cable industry trends and competitors
• Understanding of college-level accounting theory and procedures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards
• Command of standard professional tools, e.g., PCs or Macs, tablets, phones, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field
MBA or Masters in one of the above fields preferred

Preference for 10+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Corporate Strategy and/or Corporate Development in a technology/media company.

The pay for this position has a minimum of $127300. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as commissions or bonuses.
