JOB SUMMARY
This role will be an integral part of our Procurement Operations Team, and will act as the primary point of contact to coordinate and manage the Procurement organization’s Supplier Diversity (SD) program. Requires in-depth understanding of best in class SD programs, and the leadership ability to build and implement these capabilities within Charter.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to enhance Charter’s supplier diversity program
  • Serve as primary point of contact for SD-related opportunities
  • Work closely with the Procurement Analytics Team to measure and report on SD spend and activity, at a supplier, Business Unit and company-wide level
  • Work closely with Strategic Sourcing Teams to introduce Business leaders to qualified, capable diverse suppliers for consideration in sourcing events
  • Partner with Charter Business Units to communicate current SD spend trends, and to identify specific SD opportunities going forward
  • Manage processes and controls to ensure our SD reporting is complete and accurate with respect to SD spend (e.g., ensure diverse suppliers are captured and accurately identified in our Procurement Systems)
  • Develop monthly communications plans for Charter Business Units, reporting status and promoting Supplier Diversity
  • Represent Charter at various local and national conferences and meetings such as the Minority Supplier Development Council Business Opportunity Conference. Coordinate responsibilities and the participation of other Charter employees and Business Units in representing Charter at local, regional and national minority business advocacy events. Participate in SD matchmaking events to identify qualified candidates, and promote Charter in the SD community
  • Develop relationships with other SD professionals, in other MSOs and industries, to share best practices and ideas to bolster Charter’s SD program
  • Develop new and innovative methods to identify and qualify diverse supplier candidates. Work with other Business Units to make it simple for diverse suppliers to apply/qualify/partner with Charter
  • Evaluate and recommend Charter’s longer-term strategy for managing and measuring Tier 2 SD spend
  • Perform other duties that support the success of Charter’s Supplier Diversity efforts as requested


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • High proficiency using Windows suite of office tools
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent relationship building skills (internal customers as well as suppliers)
  • Experience working with Multicultural, Legal, Government Relations and other related departments
  • Excellent verbal communications, report development and written presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Proven ability to simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-pace environment
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • Unsurpassed customer service skills, and ability to build a customer-focused culture in teammates
  • Perform other duties as requested

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree
Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) certification preferred
