Oversees and directly leads new product development and product management for several key business product lines. Accountable for a broad portfolio of services and directly leads development and management of certain services. May also oversee product manager(s) who assist with development and management of other services in the portfolio.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Responsible for a portion of the business data & Internet services portfolio which includes:
• Product Management: Manage lifecycle of assigned product lines, adjusting features as necessary to ensure achievement of organizational goals and continued product health
• Product Development: Develop new services and features that align with the long-range product vision. Define short term (1-2 year) product development roadmap and drive launch of these services in a timeline manner.
• Leadership of product manager(s) with delegated responsibility for the above
Subject matter expert on Small to Medium Business (SMB) Internet products and services.
Maintains awareness and understanding of customer requirements and in all cases, serves as advocate for the customer.
Conducts competitive, peer and customer research to identify new product requirements and enhancements to existing products.
Develops detailed documentation and requirements for new services and service enhancements, including roadmaps, product requirements documents, service descriptions and business cases.
Works closely with internal engineering team to evaluate technology solutions to fulfill product requirements.
Works closely with project management and operations teams to ensure smooth product launches , updates and supportability.
Provides support to marketing organization for development of tools and documentation to maximize sales effectiveness and customer education.
Drives growth in the assigned portfolio by ensuring that all product features meet the highest standards of performance and quality, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Provides project budget guidance and actively manages and monitors results vs. budget targets.
Clarifies and documents the existing product via service and technical description documents.
Responsible for product lifecycle management. Evaluates overall performance and identifies areas of opportunity for improvement.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Product Management and/or Product Development Experience
Technological and experiential knowledge of Small to Medium Business (SMB) products, processes and technologies
Good understanding of telecommunications and data networking technologies
Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
Ability to communicate well, and maintain frequent and in-depth two-way communication with various stakeholder groups (sales, marketing, care, operations, engineering).
Ability to lead matrix teams: should be comfortable in a highly visible role; a great consensus builder and the clear champion of the product line.
Ability to think strategically, and create and drive strategy that aligns with overall company goals, and effectively translate that strategy into actionable tactics to meet or exceed budget targets
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and company personnel as well as in public forums in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to influence other organizations and rally key stakeholders within the company to achieve key objectives
Ability to independently evaluate options, formulate recommendations and present to management or project team

Bachelor's degree in technology or related field, or equivalent experience required
Master Degree preferred, but not required.
