Date posted 04/20/2021 Requisition Number: 279847BR Location: United States - Colorado - Greenwood Village Area of Interest: Engineering, Information Technology, Network Operations, Systems Engineering, Technical Operations Position Type: Full TimeThe Planning and Implementation Engineer is responsible for effective installation/configuration, provisioning, operations, monitoring, and maintenance of the legacy video back office systems and set-top client which include hardware, software and other related infrastructure to support video applications. The individual will support multiple teams which include development, engineering and lab teams and will provide technical support to enable continuing innovation within the video back office and clients infrastructure. This team provides 24x7 support for the Video Operations department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effective installation/configuration, provisioning, operations, monitoring, and maintenance of systems related to video applications
- Troubleshooting set-top boxes. (ODN, Passport, & SARA)
- Troubleshooting back-office issues for Passport and Mystro environments at a Tier IV level.
- Troubleshooting client issues on the SARA, Passport and ODN clients.
- Resolving production issues escalated to the team
- Author, and Peer-Review MOPs
- Working with Implementation teams on various projects/initiatives as well as training.
- Lead team initiatives and mentor other team members
- Responsible for effective installation/configuration, provisioning, operations, monitoring, and maintenance of back-office systems and set-top clients which include hardware, software and other related infrastructure to support video applications
- Identifying and correcting monitoring and alerting gaps to prevent outage
- Collaborate on and create automation to improve implementation processes
- Maintain accurate record keeping of system architecture
- Perform change work under Change Management guidelines
- Provide 24x7 triage support by way of on-call rotation
- Occasionally work nights and/or weekends.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of engineering work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with Unix and Linux operating systems.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in deployment troubleshooting, and providing administration
- Expert understanding of VOD asset end-end workflow
- Experience working with Cisco, or Motorola DAC digital video controller systems, along with associated technologies required for delivery of video
- Experience with hands on operations support, performing video devices or systems upgrades, and break/fix activities
- Experience with OCAP Set-top Box application
- Expert understanding of Systems Video Backoffice systems and STB interoperability.
- Intermediate to advanced IP networking knowledge, TCP/IP protocols, Routing, Switching, SNMP, ARP etc.
- Telecommunication and / or cable industry experience
- Knowledge of Spunk monitoring and alarm configuration.
- Infrastructure knowledge (AWS, Google Cloud, ElasticCloud, OpenStack)
Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $64500
