TITLE: Systems Engineer III
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, Colorado
JOB SUMMARY: Manage and maintain high availability database solutions under the GEN provisioning platform and other applications, including Remedy, IRIS, DMI, ACS, and VPNS. Perform data mining, data migration, and utilize Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Data Guard for data replication solutions. Perform database design and architecture and develop disaster recovery solutions for Oracle 12c. Assist with capacity planning, configurations, and complete setup. Fine tune Oracle database design. Install and configure Grid Infrastructure. Perform network design, configuration, testing, and documentation on Oracle Exadata X7 and X8 and Oracle Data Appliance (ODA). Propose and implement enhancements, including software and hardware updates to improve performance, reliability, and scalability of Exadata and virtual machine servers. Implement Oracle products within Charter for service provisioning. Design logical and physical data models for OLTP and OLAP applications. Plan and implement database changes with application developers and system administrators to minimize disruptions. Perform log-based change data capture, distribution, transformation, and delivery. Identify and optimize database design and resolve performance issues. Implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot Charter’s Service Delivery Platform to resolve database systems issues. Perform database tuning to avoid impact on customer order processing. Perform root-cause analysis and propose corrective action to eliminate future issues. Perform scheduled database maintenance activities such as purging of data, which is out of retention, adding partitions for future growth, and dropping partitions to reclaim disk space. Monitor critical alerts, system availability, and resource consumption utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager. Provide a high level of engineering technical support and guidance to other engineers and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards, and documentation are met. Implement failover capabilities for all provisioning databases to reduce operational impact. Develop Shell scripts to automate routine activities, including health checks, backups, and monitoring. Implement database backup schedules using Oracle RMAN.
Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $116,584.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 5 years of experience performing data mining, data migration and utilizing Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Data Guard for data replication solutions; and with database design and architecture and developing disaster recovery solutions for Oracle 12c. 4 years of experience fine tuning Oracle database design. 3 years of experience performing network design, configuration, testing, and documentation on Oracle Exadata X7 or X8; and utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager.

The pay for this position has a minimum of $116584. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as commissions or bonuses.
