JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Billing Assurance is responsible for leading the execution of complex initiatives for the Phone & Mobile Analytics team by analyzing and understanding trends in data and creating advanced strategies to mitigate billing, provisioning and data integrity issues. Responsible for overseeing the creation and production of forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. in order to provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. This role requires a thorough understanding of business analysis and data methodology and will receive direction from leadership regarding the execution of responsibilities, provide overall oversight, management and direction to employees, exercise good judgement, and utilize knowledge within the designated area of responsibility.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the creation and analysis of complex data and statistical tests in support of a variety of analytic solutions to identify gaps in billing systems

Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities

Develop reports and deliverables for management and communicate with all levels of stakeholders

Identify and define data quality improvements and create advanced strategies

Lead the entire end-to-end data science process from ETL to building models, to deploying the model into workflows to measuring the financial impact

Guides the selection of appropriate algorithms and execution

Facilitates the interpretation of results by synthesizing appropriate recommendations for action and changes, considering both causal inferences and predictive effectiveness

Identify opportunities to use data to develop new strategies and improve business performance and utilize knowledge of mathematical modeling and other optimization methods to perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis

Project manages cross functional teams and external vendors to implement solutions to address revenue leakage

Gather, report, review and monitor performance metrics of team

Onboard, offboard, mentor, train and discipline team members

Perform other duties as requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Expert knowledge in data pre-processing and exploratory data analysis using a variety of statistical techniques
  • Understand the theoretical background of each statistical test and model

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced proficiency with large databases; conducting complex analysis using more than one programming language such as SAS and Python
Expert level logical and analytical skills
Broad experience and solid theoretical foundation on the modeling process using a variety of algorithms
Ability to explain complex analysis results in an easy-to-understand language
Ability to create conceptual frameworks enabling the analysis of varied business problems

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management or other quantitative fields is required.

Related Work Experience
5 + Years - Management experience
5 + Years - Data analysis and reporting or related experience
3 + Years - Solving business problems through deep analytics and with (with Bachelors Degree) OR 2 + Years - Solving business problems through deep analytics (with Masters Degree)
2 + Years - Communications industry experience preferred
