This non-supervisory position is responsible for managing, researching, compiling, and summarizing data related to 911 state and federal regulations and compliance requirements. The position involves coordinating and consolidating relevant data from municipal 911 coordinators, as well as internal stakeholders, to update internal databases. This role will provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders while acting as a liaison in day-to-day interactions, including organizing and electronically filing 911 Reliability Certification documents related to voice compliance matters.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Deliver accurate and practical voice regulatory advice while complying with internal policies, and with federal and state regulations, in helping the business to meet its objectives.
Ensure 911 compliance; act as day-to-day liaison for interaction with internal stakeholders regarding implementation and management of regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders during new 911 telephone launches and during next generation 911 deployments.
Identify and maintain Public Safety Answering Point contact and notification data within internal 911 database.
Process Selective Router, ALI Database and market requests for NPA-NXX adds or ports.
Acts as an internal escalation contact for 911 compliance topics; manage resolution of issues with other internal stakeholders.
Track annual 911 filing dates, audit and prepare filing for approval, and submit approved filings in the appropriate federal databases.
Implement compliance programs through collaboration with internal stakeholders, and with legal/regulatory subject-matter experts.
Perform regulatory research to assist with Charter’s advice and compliance responsibilities.
Manage PSAP relationships and perform outreach, as needed.
Be willing to take on complex projects and act with appropriate initiative.
Perform other duties as required.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently
Strong knowledge of 911 regulation, standards, and procedures with experience in provisioning originating carrier components in wireline, wireless and VoIP configurations
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to demonstrate judgment and initiative in accomplishing job duties
Proficient in using personal computer and software applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
Knowledge of telecom products and services
Bachelor’s degree in related area, or equivalent experience
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE YEARS
Regulatory work experience in telecom industry 5+
Competitive LEC 911 regulatory work experience 5+
Wireless regulatory telecom experience a plus
Office environment (St Louis, MO; Denver, CO; Tampa, FL)
Required travel (up to 10%)
