JOB SUMMARY Opportunity for an energetic and driven paralegal to join a fast-paced, collaborative legal team that supports commercial sales teams. The successful candidate will have paralegal experience in the area of commercial contracts and general legal research. The position requires strong understanding of how commercial contracts work, excellent organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the in-house customer experience
Accurate and timely review, research and delivery of a high volume of customer forms requesting a wide array of company information.
Review legal notices, including but not limited to disputes and demands, submitted to commercial contract group, distribute and track through completion.
Perform legal research as assigned from time to time.
May conduct fact gathering interviews with customers and/or employees to prepare Settlement Agreements
Collect, review and draft legal documents, correspondence and other materials of some intermediate complexity
Monitor Contract Management schedules and filing deadlines
Draft correspondence which includes; consents, notices, schedules, required documents, and customer responses
Obtain, organize, and serve as point of contact for due diligence, litigation or projects
Perform documentary research to include analyzing statutes, regulations, precedent, articles, codes and other legal resources
Review information for attorney(s) and Contract Managers, and prepare summaries, including recommended course of action
Input and update information into the legal databases
Perform other duties as requested from time to time
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills /Abilities and Knowledge Proficiency with Microsoft software Excellent organization skills and attention to detail Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, legal holds and other related matters Legal research and investigative skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
Education & Certifications Paralegal certification or American Bar Association Approved curriculum required or Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience 2+ years paralegal experience
