Sr. Benefits Analyst- Benefits Consultant

JOB SUMMARY
This position will be recognized as a subject matter expert within the Benefits department and will work on a wide range of benefits related projects. This role will serve as an internal consultant to the business, proactively liaise and leverage external resources (vendors) and internal partners (HR) to assess and enhance existing benefits processes, protocols, and programs. May assist in planning, developing, and redesigning company benefits programs and analyzing benefit costs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as subject matter expert resource for Benefit Analysts and administrators. Provide guidance with complex employee benefit and other related issues

Assist with project management of significant benefit changes

Partner with carriers to resolve eligibility, plan design and claim issues

Responsible for vendor oversight

Address elevated employee issues related to health plans, retirement or other relevant benefit programs

Participate in the regular plan design review and development meetings

Draft comprehensive benefit communications for annual enrollment and ongoing employee education

Develop communication materials to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package

Investigate new benefits programs and make recommendations on improvements to the existing programs

Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations

Lead special projects as needed

Survey market data in order to determine company’s competitive position in employee benefits
May participate in benefit surveys and Census reports.

Perform other related duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Advanced level proficiency with personal computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Excellent knowledge of employee benefit plans, policies and procedures
Extensive knowledge of pertinent state and federal laws regarding ERISA, HIPAA and FMLA
Knowledge of HRIS systems

Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
CBP or CEBS certification preferred
