As a member of Charter’s Internal Communications Production team you will be responsible for producing compelling motion graphics animations to support the efforts of the Communications teams (Internal and External) and other corporate and operating units (including Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion, Product & Technology, Community Impact and others). The Motion Graphics Designer is an artist who actively and consistently provides animated, rich-media outputs that adhere to a design specification while leveraging creative know-how to bring a design to life.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes creative skills (illustration, animation) and technologies to produce the appropriate deliverables and outputs on time.
Develops and interprets storyboards and requests to deliver creative and innovative animated solutions.
Works collaboratively with internal clients, often making quick iterations and using creative skills to demonstrate “what’s possible.”
Researches and implements new market and industry trends to innovate creative methods and editorial vision for animation.
Supports video production teams in ideating and creating animations to integrate with video deliverables.
Creates animation templates that can be used for ongoing projects by digital production teams.
Designs collateral materials, including emails, ads, pamphlets and infographics using photo editing and design applications.
Creates graphics and retouches photos within Photoshop.
Manages still photography shoots, including sourcing photographers, creating shot sheets, partnering with teams to clear photos for internal and external use and maintaining a library of imagery.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Expertise in software applications specific to creative design, including but not limited to the Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop,) and Cinema 4D (or similar software)
Significant knowledge of current social media trends and best practices, with ability to create engaging animation for various different social media platforms
Ability to work independently and be self directed
Demonstrated creative portfolio of animated business concepts
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple assignments concurrently to meet deadlines
Ability to quickly and effectively shift gears to meet changing business requirements and priorities
Demonstrate an ability to work closely with peers (including videographers, editors, and copywriters)
BA/BS in Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation or related field, or equivalent experience
