The SpectrumSr. Director of Competitive Intelligence will lead a team responsible for tracking and reporting all facets of competitive intensity across Charter’s footprint, for the Residential and Small and Medium Business (SMB) segments, across all four product categories (Cable TV, Internet, landline Voice, Wireless). This high-visibility position reports to the Vice President of Competitive Intelligence & Performance Analytics and will lead the discovery and synthesis of intelligence from internal and external sources to assess the footprint, market share, product offerings, and marketing tactics of national and local/regional competitors, to ultimately provide comprehensive intelligence and actionable insights to Marketing, Sales, and Senior Executive leaders. The Sr. Director will be responsible for continual improvement of competitive intelligence and intelligence sourcing, and as such will manage relationships with the Field Marketing team, and with multiple external intelligence providers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identification, assessment, and sourcing of intelligence from internal and external sources
Measurement of homes passed overlap for regional and local competitors
Analysis of Market share and share flow trending for all competitors, at local market level
Tracking of competitor internet speeds to identify entry-level speeds, max speeds and presence and growth of gigabit competitive footprint
Assessment of growth opportunity and threats by geography and product
Tracks major category trends
Assisting marketing and legal teams in developing and countering competitive claims
Development of profiles of competitors to include footprint, product set, internet speed, marketing tactics and channels employed, trend of historical performance and growth strategies
Managing a team of highly skilled professionals
Strong knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and processes
Hands-on experience with Competitive Analysis, Business/Industry Research, and experience/understanding of field marketing and intelligence
Strong communication skills, including experience presenting complex information in a concise and easy to understand fashion
Proven ability to attract, develop and manage staff
MS Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word- with high level of proficiency in Excel; Think Cell and Tableau a plus
Ability to manage large, complex projects
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment with limited oversight
Bachelor degree from accredited four year college with major in Marketing, Management, Finance, Statistics or Economics.
Related Work Experience
Ten years or more business experience working within a Marketing or Strategic Planning function of a large organization with an established reputation for measuring business and/or competitive intelligence (e.g., telecom, media, financial services, publishing, retail, consulting, etc.)

Proficiency with Think Cell and Tableau
