The Investigator I is responsible for investigating instances of theft, employee misconduct and workplace violations of a proprietary and contingent workforce. The Investigator I will conduct research, personal interviews and analyze all necessary information and documents related to the investigation in accordance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company policies. This position will write and document comprehensive investigative reports utilizing the Corporate Physical Security investigative reporting database, in addition to providing testimonials regarding the incident and the process and/or tools utilized to identify the subject(s) and/or loss.

Actively and consistently lead all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Apply basic knowledge to investigative instances of theft, and workplace violations of a proprietary and contingent workforce.

Support Investigator II in complex investigations and in workplace related support for other Charter functions (i.e. Human Resources, Audit, Charter Legal).

Complete on-site security risk assessment for division facilities, documenting findings and incorporating the crime related index with an algorithm to evaluate overall risk to the location; present recommendations to appropriate business units.

Represent the Corporate Physical Security on various market and/or area level committees and working groups, providing guidance and expertise on physical security matters as needed.

Assist with administering physical security programs.

Facilitate security related training to Charter employees in a manner consistent with Charter policies, procedures, quality standards, and customer needs.

Prepare and document investigations for hand off to Human Resources, Charter Legal or law enforcement agencies with general supervision.

Author timely and accurate investigative reports.

Handle multiple types of investigations (Employee Misconduct, Theft, and Workplace Issues).

Perform other duties as requested.

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Understanding of the criminal justice, court system and private security regulations
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills, as well as the ability to deal
with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications
Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision and successfully complete required work
Ability to read and write in English and use math skills accurately to complete daily paperwork
Accuracy and attention to detail
Understanding of incident reporting and case management
Knowledge of evidence handling and case building for prosecution
Knowledge of interview techniques
Must be knowledgeable and work within the laws/statutes as well as employment laws impacting methods used in successful investigations
Ability to be flexible in order to respond to urgent issues, situational needs and requirements of the workload
Pursues professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association membership, and shares information gained with co-workers
Comfortable speaking to large groups to provide security related training

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
PCI, CFE, CPP or similar certification
Knowledge of Federal, state or local regulations relevant to the company, i.e., PCI, CPNI, SOX, HIPAA, and data privacy affecting theft of cable service

Office environment
Up to 40% travel (within the region) with the ability to work hours outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required
