Responsibilities
TITLE: Principal Engineer I
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO
JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Charter Communication’s Web Services Application. Facilitate outage, impairment, and hazcon bridges as well as collaborate with IT partners to review methods of procedure documents. Support JAVA and Tomcat-based applications/large scale services on Linux platforms. Review and implement patches and new releases for applications; modify existing software to correct errors; develop and direct software system testing; and analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installations of new systems. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to analyze system capabilities and requirements as well as consult with customers and management on technical issues, including overall software system design and maintenance, and author technical documentation to support new processes and procedures. This position does not directly supervise team members, and the position's supervisor, Sr. Mgr., System Engineering, directly supervises team members.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Information Systems, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in the following: Virtual Machines and concepts including VMWare or Open Stack; utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux for automation, cloud, containers, middleware, storage, and application development; utilizing scripting or programming to perform application monitoring, troubleshooting, and support; and using programming languages including Java, Pearl, Bash, and Python to develop Web Services Applications. A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $110,800 to $196,400. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
