We are excited to recognize Nelson, a Billing Operations Tech Analyst at Spectrum, as our September Employee Spotlight. We recently had the chance to talk with Nelson about his time here at Spectrum and how his career has evolved since starting with us.
How long have you worked at Spectrum, and what do you do with us? I work for Billing Operations, a segment of the Customer Operations Team, as a Technical Analyst I, and I have been with Spectrum since June of 2017. I was originally an Inbound Sales Representative on the Sales Retention team before transitioning into my current role. The opportunities here at Spectrum are endless if you keep an open mind, focus on your objectives, and always remain coachable and ready to learn.
What motivated you to join the Spectrum team? I have always wanted to work in the telecommunications industry. I’ve worked in the internet space in almost every facet of my life, so Spectrum was the perfect fit.
What do you like about your current role? My favorite thing about this role is just how incredible my team is, and the wealth of knowledge they have on how our company works. My coworkers are friendly, courteous, and just plain awesome to be around. They are what makes the entire department click.
You recently transitioned from our Sales team to our Billing Operations team- what was this shift like? The transition was smooth. There are many things I still need to learn in my new role, but my experience on the Inside Sales Business Retention team taught me the inner workings of our company. As an Inside Sales Representative, I was skilled in our business model in order to retain small business customers and relate to their product needs. Those skills have come with me to my new position, as I work behind-the-scenes to make sure that we do our absolute best.
