Through our career self-progression and apprenticeship programs, Field Technicians can increase their earnings as they master new skills and grow.
Career Self-Progression for Field Technicians
Available across many roles in on our Field Operations team, our career self-progression program lets employees move up through defined job levels as they build new skills and gain experience. With each step forward, they qualify for bonuses and higher pay.
For Field Technicians, the first step happens during onboarding. Upon training completion, techs receive a 10% wage increase – and move from Field Tech I to Field Tech II. They can then progress up to a Field Tech V through self-study, and assessments, and earn a $500 coursework completion bonus plus a 10% wage increase each time they move to the next level. After Field Tech V, techs may elect to continue their studies to become eligible to apply for a Field Tech VI position – earning another $500 coursework completion bonus, plus five percent wage increase for coursework completion – and another five percent wage increase if selected for the role.
Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program
Field technicians in the self-progression program can also apply for our Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program, allowing them to earn an industry-recognized certification they can take with them no matter where their career leads.
The program tracks the same Spectrum Field Technician progress program – while awarding a nationally recognized certification from the U.S. Department of Labor upon completion.
Additional Program Benefits for Military Veterans
Military veterans bring valuable experience to our Field Operations team, and the Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program builds on that service. Veterans who enroll in the apprenticeship can collect GI Bill benefits while they learn, adding to their regular Spectrum pay and helping them maximize their total earnings during the program.
