BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As the Supervisor of Operations, you are in charge of day-to-day operations for multiple Master Control air paths. You will develop and execute a production plan for the assigned News Channels in collaboration with operations, editorial leadership, and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising day-to-day Master Control Operations, such as scheduling staff and coordinating on air content requests. You are an essential part of a collaborative team that produces compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts intended to engage and connect with our local audience.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in Television or News - 5+ years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Technical skills Extensive knowledge and experience in at least one Control Room or Studio position, ability to troubleshoot automated production applications in a non-traditional production environment
  • Skills: Demonstrated time management skills, ability to manage concurrent tasks, and delegate work to qualified personnel
  • Abilities: Ability to instruct and train others in the operation, maintenance, and proper handling of television production equipment
  • Schedule: Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to “breaking news” and severe weather emergencies, ability to work weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing content utilizing both Dalet and Adobe Premier
  • Supervisory or leadership experience - 1+ years

Working Conditions

  • Varying schedule because of changing production, breaking news and/or daily news coverage requirements
  • Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support.
  • May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and loss of staff members
  • Participate in an established on-call rotation

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands, fingers to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other compute components
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying distances

The pay for this position has a salary range of $55,600.00 to $88,600.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
