The Data Scientist plays a key role in our data driven audits and is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of data analysis and visualizations to support the audit plan, including requirements gathering, data validation, analysis execution and results reporting using visualization tools. The position requires regular communication with the audit team to define requirements and present deliverables.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Design and develop analytic solutions to support our audit plan, including but not limited to: Understanding the source data and business process Independently write code to extract data from various sources (Teradata, SQL, Oracle, etc.) Develop code to manipulate and clean data as needed based on requirements gathered in conjunction with the Manager, Data Science. Design and execute data validations and quality checks to ensure complete and accurate populations. Design and build visualization solutions with our end users in mind to drive efficiency and effective anomaly identification Refreshing and optimizing existing analytics based on internal and external feedback. Identify risks and escalate to management appropriately. Participate in discussions and interface with various departments to research, define, and document requirements. Proactively seek clarification of requirements and direction; takes responsibility when needed. Executes special projects as needed and performs other duties as requested.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, operations research, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Data Analytics - 3
Programming experience – 2
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Effective communication, verbal and written, relationship management, and customer service skills with a focus on working effectively in a team environment
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Experience with analytical and statistical software
Experience using a data science toolkit such as Python or R
Comprehensive level SQL skills
Demonstrated effective analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to perform in-depth and independent research and analysis
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information
In-depth knowledge of core computer science principles including algorithms, data structures, and design methodologies
Prior exposure to cloud-based infrastructures
Experience with big data tools such as Spark and Hive
Working conditions
