Are you ready to assist in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications and their operating systems and databases? As a Systems Engineer I at Spectrum, will you manage the Application Administration of OSS applications across all Spectrum divisions and participate in the full life cycle of engineering activities to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Install, administer, configure and maintain NMS including operating systems and related software
Provide “on call” support to resolve NMS issues outside normal business hours
Use established change management processes to perform operational procedures with minimal customer impact, adhering to maintenance windows
Work with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases in variety of languages
Document systems configurations and upgrades
Monitor and assist in managing applications, device availability, network conditions and status, system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources
Work with current templates and assist with the design and development of new templates
Work with deployment and core service engineers to determine needs
Set up filters on data generated by monitors
Generate reports on server and application availability and performance

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience
1+ years system administration experience (UNIX & Netcool)
1+ years database support experience
1+ years enterprise application experience
Skills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Basic ability to conduct design sessions for solution feasibility, cost, and functionality
Basic ability to create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications
Basic ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and proceduresand troubleshoot application problems
Basic knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, testing tools and OSS applications and software
Basic knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
3+ years system administration experience (UNIX, Oracle, WebLogic, Jenkins, AWS, ArgoCD, Gitlab, Jenkins), knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, OSI network layers, DNS, DHCP). Splunk and Datadog or any monitoring applications
3+ years enterprise application experience and AWS EC2, EKS, Cloudwatch
2+ years of experience in Oracle Database and SQL
Proficient in utilizing tools like Jira
Experienced in Cable domain
Basic knowledge on CSG Biller, Account provisioning

The base pay for this position generally is between $60,900.00 and $97,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
