JOB SUMMARY

Direct and manage the Inside Plant Operations staff and facilities within the greater Charlotte, NC area. 

Implement structured, consistent, and disciplined operational practices to ensure stable product delivery ensuring alignment with company initiatives and expectations. Supports operational teams internal and external to Technology Operations including project planning and CAPEX/OPEX spending. Ensures a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product deployment and support.

  • Overseeing designated inside plant operations which include facilities & electronics, powering, cooling, cabling, FCC Compliance.
  • Providing direct hands-on support for other Technology Operations teams for COLO and Hub locations.  
  • Providing engineering operational support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives. 
  • Evaluating and consult with all levels of leadership regarding technical operations, strategic planning, Construction, Systems techs and network operations.
  • Directing quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures.
  • Ensuring current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with Charter Policy and Federal Communication Commission Standards.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the maintenance of records as required by Charter Policy, Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies.
  • Ensuring adherence to company TQA policies. 
  • Performing other duties as requested. 
  • Assisting MA Leader with capital budget process, execute approved budget plan.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Engineering experience (10+ years)
  • Management experience (8+ years)
  • Project Management experience (5+ years)

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of company products and services.
  • Extensive knowledge of HFC.
  • Extensive knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HVAC and power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of Analog Transmission Line Theory.
  • Knowledge of Electronic theory.
  • Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations.
  • Knowledge of Fiber Optic theory.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Must lead by example / mentor.
  • Proven leader with progressive responsibility.

Abilities: 

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Critical Facility Construction/Maintenance.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 50% Office and 50% Critical Facility environment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
  • Travel Required.
  • Shift desired: M-F 8a-5p
