BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Supervisor of Senior Digital Producer, you will be responsible for creating engaging content for our digital products, including websites, mobile apps, and social media sites for news and sports channels. You'll have the opportunity to assign daily and long-term projects while also monitoring the quality of our digital platforms. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing strategies to build and maintain our various social media properties. You will be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, and accurate content intended to engage and connect with our local audience.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in online journalism preferred and/or production writing - 5+
  • Education:Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Journalism, Communications or related field or comparable television work experience
  • Technical skills:Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, web scripting, and FTP, familiarity with internet publishing workflow, including experience with a content management system, image editing software, video editing tools and social media platforms
  • Skills: An understanding of AP style, strong news judgement and ability to play an active role in news gathering, and outstanding organizational skills 
  • Abilities:Ability to tell engaging stories in the digital space by adding video assets and photos
  • Travel Ability:Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
  • Schedule:Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts, due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies Ability to work weekends and holidays and be flexible with schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory or leadership experience - 1+

  • Normal office environment
  • Works in an open newsroom setting with a semi-noisy environment
  • Works different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies. Willing and able to work weekends and holidays

A qualified applicant’s criminal history, if any, will be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws, including local ordinances.

The base pay for this position generally is between $75,200.00 and $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
