Responsible for directing and managing the field engineering and HFC network teams. Implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery aligned with company initiatives and expectations to include our Network Evolution Project. Support business operations with expertise, including technical services and plant maintenance. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and assist with business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product deployment and support. Partners with Senior Management and Sr Director, Regional Engineering to plan and evaluate capital needs for development and expansion as well as ensure success of our netowrk evolution project. Implement and enhance consistent practices to ensure stable service delivery aligned with Region initiatives and expectations.


  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Develop an effective front line Leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high performance culture and environment.
  • Lead an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience.
  • Provide engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
  • Evaluate and consult with Region, Network Operations and other cross functional leadership regarding technical operations, strategic planning of rebuilds, and network operations for output to the OSP (outside plant), dispatch, and new product deployment.
  • Direct quality control programs for engineering operations and consistent operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance on leakage management, node health and general plant metrics.
  • Ensure rapid and successful solution on outages.
  • Direct capital budget process and execute approved budget plan.
  • Ensure current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with Federal Communication Commission Standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance of records as required by the Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies.
  • Ensure adherence to company TQA policies.
  • Lead and participate in succession planning and oversee the development of staff and approves performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Advanced knowledge of company products and services Advanced knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, and IP Networks
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications
  • Advanced knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state
  • Comprehensive understanding of power distribution systems
  • Knowledge of Analog Transmission Line Theory Knowledge of Electronic theory Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations
  • Knowledge of Fiber Optic theory Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • 8+ years of Engineering experience 
  • 5+ years Project management experience 

Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Experience with Disaster Recovery

Preferred Education

  • SCTE-BCT/E certification or equivalent
  • Relevant industry and vendor-specific certifications and training

Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Technical management experience - 5

Working Conditions

  • Office environment
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels
  • Travel as required
