Physical Security Technician
This role will provide strategic operational and technological support; guiding and assisting upgrades to identified surveillance and access control systems and equipment. This includes physically responding to a location to assess deployment options and to address system failures to immediately mitigate any issues and to restore physical security systems.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the ability for Corporate Physical Security to monitor company sites and ensure only those authorized have access to them.
• Provide program coordination and oversight of regional physical security projects, physical installations, and repairs of access systems, alarms, and CCTV security systems. This includes participating in the overall planning; timelines, budget, integrator installation, testing, ensuring compliance with departmental standards, and communicating project risks. If necessary, provide onsite guidance for vendor equipment installation in order to address technical issues, system updates, and repairs.
• Complete annual facility security risk assessment for regional sites, utilizing various tools such as CrimeCast to provide broad perspective, documenting and assessing findings in a timely manner and presenting recommended mitigation strategies to appropriate departments. Meeting with site leaders to review findings and provide recommendations.
• Act as the visitor management system administrator to ensure system is properly installed, programed and functioning as designed.
• Supervise contract integrators with the installation of security and alarm systems in Charter facilities and retail locations. Manage quotes, invoicing, and payment for security system installations.
• Facilitate response to access control systems, alarms, and CCTV systems within the region, handling installation plans, technical issues, system updates, and repairs. Ability to operate these systems in high-stress environments/ situations.
• Provide oversight and monitoring of security systems to ensure operational effectiveness, check security access systems, alarms, and CCTV systems within the region on a consistent basis in coordination with the Project Management Group (PMG).
• Work with Security Coordinators and Physical Security Specialist II to continually evaluate and determine strategic region site needs and provide in-field support whenever necessary.
• Available 24/7 as the primary point of contact for service issues/alarm notifications, and PSOC after hour notifications regarding system failure issues associated with Corporate Physical Security Department systems. Available to respond to phone, email, and other communicated after hour system concerns to find quick resolution of service issues.
• Travel to Charter’s facilities across the Enterprise to coordinate and oversee on-site security risk assessment for facilities, documenting findings and incorporating the crime related index with an algorithm to evaluate overall risk to the location, then present recommendations to appropriate business units.
• Liaison with local law enforcement and other security professionals as it pertains to security matters.
• Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma required or equivalent combination of education and experience
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE AND NUMBER OF YEARS
Experience handling access controls, alarms, or CCTV systems - 2-3
