This position is responsible for assisting on state government affairs initiatives in a fast-paced environment. The position will work closely with the Midwest State Government Affairs team to support the achievement of legislative, community engagement, franchising, and regulatory goals. The position will report to the Group Vice President, Government Affairs Midwest.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts of the Midwest Government Affairs teams objectives
Prepare, analyze, forecast, and regularly track annual budget, including developing reports, and management and communication of results
Assist in the development and implementation of state-wide PAC strategies, including supporting execution of solicitation as well as budgeting and disbursement processes
Assist in compliance activities related to lobbying disclosure regulations and election law
Prepare and file franchise renewal applications and reports, plus other related franchise compliance matters
Represent Charter at government, third-party, industry and political related events
Manage budget and vendor payment process
Support Government & Community Strategy team with regional community event, communications, and planning
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while effectively meeting deadlines
Ability to think critically, demonstrate good judgement, is detail oriented, and has innovative problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze budgets, forecast results, and manage to goals
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Goal-oriented team player with desire to be part of a fun and dynamic team
Demonstrated organizational capabilities
Skilled in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
2+ years of budget analysis experience
