BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
The Advanced Video Engineer I, under limited supervision, will be responsible for engineering activities that maintain and enhance the company's advanced video and signal processing hardware, software and electrical systems. Designs, implements, monitors, enhances and troubleshoots systems in assigned areas. As an Advanced Video Engineer I, you will work closely with Headend operations staff on system design and configuration.
WHAT OUR ADVANCED VIDEO ENGINEER I ENJOY THE MOST
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Basic configuration and support of advanced video equipment (e.g. VOD, controllers, multiplexing, digital transport, edge QAM).
- Work with Engineering to design and test system designs.
- Develop, design and implement electronic systems including audio, video and other multimedia equipment.
- Identify, resolve and escalate as required operational and design issues through data analysis and recommend solutions to make systems more efficient.
- Work with the field on the implementation of network related projects and other standardization efforts.
- Work with vendors and Engineering to resolve issues and design flaws.
- Perform detailed problem diagnosis, track and update problems in trouble ticketing system.
- Develop problem resolution procedures required to meet serviceability requirements.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
- Know, understand, and follow company policies.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- One (1+) year of Video networking technologies experience.
- Experience with IP and MPEG Protocol Analyzers.
- Experience with working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to isolate and troubleshoot failed equipment, facility issues and other network components.
- Knowledge and understanding of video, data and voice communications networks, IP networking.
- Basic IP networking knowledge, TCP/IP protocols, Routing, and Switching.
- Basic knowledge of UNIX and UNIX tools.
- Knowledge of MPEG 2 MPEG 4.
- Knowledge of Motorola and/or CISCO video delivery systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Familiarity of Microsoft Visio or equivalent design software.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write and speak the English.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
- Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations.
- Work Environment:
- Work in a 24x7, fast paced environment.
- Scheduled on-call duty.
- Exposure to continuous moderate noise.
- Work in temperature controlled environment.
- Schedule:
- This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days). Must be open to shift / overnight work.
- Schedule Requirement:
- Mon – Fri 2 Shift (7 am – 4 pm).
- Mon – Fri 2 Shift (7 am – 4 pm).
- Travel Requirement:
- Travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of company products, services, and NOC procedures.
- Knowledge of network and element management systems.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or equivalent technical field or work experience.
- Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E).

The base pay for this position generally is between $60,900.00 and $97,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
