BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a Director, Software Development on this team, you will be responsible for strategic direction and management of software architecture professionals. You will be responsible for bringing multiple application teams and architects together to produce detailed designs for new software solutions. You and your team will perform this role for some of our most important, transformative, and complicated projects. Your solutions will span many functional areas including Marketing, Sales, Customer Operations, Field Operations, and Network Operations. You will implement and enhance consistent software engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery that aligns with company initiatives and expectations. You will direct project planning, capital budgeting and assist with business plan development. You will ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product planning, deployment and support.
WHAT DIRECTORS, SOFTWARE DEVELOPEMENT ENJOY MOST
- Lead an innovative and collaborative work team in producing exceptional software.
- Lead development of new software technology and initiatives which may include, but not limited to code architecture, development, and unit and near neighbor testing and related equipment requirements.
- Evaluate and provide direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
- Evaluate, in conjunction with all levels of leadership, third party software solutions, code architecture, technical operations, strategic planning of releases, network operations, dispatch, and new product development and deployment.
- Direct quality control programs for software development, software solutions and consistent operational procedures.
- Review selections on bids for contracted projects and provide recommendations as necessary.
- Oversee capital budget process and executes approved budget plan.
- Lead and participate in succession planning.
- Assist in championing new technologies as we scale for the future.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- Software Engineering experience – 8+ years
- Leadership experience - 5+ years
- Education: BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
- Technical skills:
- In-depth Knowledge of Java, JavaScript or Python and modern software approaches and architectures
- Advanced knowledge of current software development methodologies and practices
- Experience leading teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner
- Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects
- Ability to drive multiple projects and tasks
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
- Ability to organize and delegate work to various levels of management and software professionals
- Ability to influence without having direct authority
- Ability to communicate complex solutions in a simplified manner to senior technology leadership as well as business leadership
- Ability to identify and solve poorly defined problems, gaps, edge cases, and rainy day scenarios
- Travel Ability:
- Office Environment
- Exposure to moderate noise levels
- Travel as required

Preferred Qualifications
- Architecture experience
- Advanced knowledge of company products and services
- Project management experience
- Deep expertise in Ordering, Inventory, and Provisioning solutions for Cable/Telecom
- Experience working with and across complex, cross-functional programs
- Extensive experience performing Detailed Design across disparate technology teams (both internal and external)
- Experience leading in a Waterfall environment

The base pay for this position generally is between $138,800.00 and $246,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
