Responsible for providing direction and leadership to the Service Activation department - maintaining system integrity and overseeing the existing provisioning systems, deployment of new products, and assisting with projects.
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a LEAD DEVOPS ENGINEER on the Provisioning Quality & Reliability SCI team, you’ll lead production support tasks including troubleshooting of system and data issues for both divisional and national systems. This role will be part of the Production Engineering support team and be the first line of contact for production issues. This role may also include administration and support of third-party software. The Lead DevOps Engineer should have expertise with technology (inputs, outputs, and processing flows), and be an outstanding communicator.
WHAT OUR LEAD DEVOPS ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST
- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Work in conjunction with developers, testers, stakeholders, offshore vendors, and deployment teams to assist in creating software deployment plans.
- Single Customer Issue tickets and escalations are completed within SLA
- Individual order fallouts are tracked and resolved
- Track critical KPIs that will drive team efficiency
- Represent the team on IT outages / Incident bridges
- Look for opportunities to automate repetitive processes/steps
- Act as an escalation point of contact for all front-line team (NFS/Repair/PAC) issues
- Drive root cause analysis for any new issues/patterns identified by the team
- Monitor and advise on system’s performance and reliability, mentor less experienced engineers.
- Lead project-related stand-up meetings/reviews and provides feedback for all documentation.
- Lead the day to day operations of the SCI team and maintain efficiency
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in Application/Platform Support in an Operations environment, specifically in a Tier 4 support model
- 7+ years of telecommunications or related experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or technical field or equivalent work experience
- Skills:
- Must possess demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
- Established knowledge in using ticketing and software tools such as: Remedy, Jira, Cherwell, Service Now, etc.
- Has thorough understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Should be a leader that can facilitate and build team consensus
- Competent problem solver who can identify and resolve complex issues as part of a team
- Established knowledge of order fulfillment and provisioning flows and systems such as order orchestration, inventory management, and service activation
- Established knowledge of database architecture, design, and implementation
- Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and runbooks
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to details and demonstrate a high level of ownership on all assigned tasks
- Extraordinary relationship management experience
- Established sound business knowledge of disciplines outside of designated technical domain
- Ability to work under limited direction and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

- This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days)
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of robust software development processes and software configuration management policies
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of products such as Jira, Confluence, FishEye, and Crucible
- Some experience with Java programming

The base pay for this position generally is between $98,900.00 and $175,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
