As a Senior Tax Accountant, Indirect Tax, your main responsibility will be to provide tax research and data analysis to support the technical billing and tax assurance function related to transaction taxes. It is crucial that you possess a solid understanding of tax billing requirements, data dependencies, and workflows, as well as the overall compliance process. Working effectively within a team environment and delivering timely, in-depth tax analysis will be essential in this role. We are seeking candidates who are enthusiastic about learning and willing to explore new areas of expertise.
WHAT OUR SR TAX ACCOUNTANT INDIRECT TAX ENJOY MOST
- Actively and consistently support all efforts for tax assurance, including customer billing and compliance.
- Responsibly documenting and researching compliance tax data variances.
- Validating the reflection of the current month’s tax rate/rule changes in billing data.
- Performing audits of house geocode assignments for all company billing systems.
- Validating, testing, and documenting all tax calculation engine configuration changes on a monthly basis.
- Conducting monthly validation of billing code configurations specific to tax across all billers.
- Providing support for ad hoc reporting requests related to the monthly transaction tax data flow.
- Offering assistance with tax estimates.
- Coordinating and communicating with various members of the tax, accounting, and billing departments.
- Compiling and communicating detailed data in a comprehensive and understandable format, both in written and verbal forms.
- Conducting research and preparing support documentation for sales and use tax audits.
- Performing additional duties as required

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Indirect tax billing or Audit review 3+ years
- Data analysis 3+ years
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with SQL a plus
- Experience with various tax systems including tax engines (Vertex, Suretax)
- Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Experience with efficient processing of large data sets and/or data investigation
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Able to proactively identify risks before they become problems
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Telecommunications industry
