What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 28th, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.
Internship responsibilities may include
Position Overview: As a BI Analytics Intern, you will work closely with our BI, Programming and Corporate Analytics teams to analyze product usage data (Video, Internet, Mobile) and support the creation of insightful reports and dashboards. You will help identify patterns in how customers engage with our products, providing valuable insights to improve user experience, optimize features, and inform business decisions. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with real-world product data, data visualization tools, and analytics techniques in a fast-paced environment.
Key Reponsiblities:
- Collect, clean, and prepare product usage data for analysis, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Assist in creating and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports to track key product metrics and usage patterns
- Perform data analyses to identify trends, customer behavior, and opportunities for product optimization
- Work closely with the BI, Product, Programming teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for product engagement
- Present findings and insights to internal stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable format
Here’s what it takes to get started
Required qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Advanced Degree
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred qualifications
- Basic understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Basic knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis
- Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau) for data visualization and reporting
- Experience with or interest in analyzing product usage data and user behavior patters
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques or machine learning methods is a bonus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
