What you can expect in this role

As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations. Internship responsibilities may include

The intern in this role will be supporting the Field Operations Business Planning team to provide Data analysis and support for assigned business units.
As such, the Intern in this role will be conducting an array of analysis in categories that may include headcount/staffing, capital project, capital labor, lost CPE, materials issuance and/or other relevant operating or performance analysis with operational analytics. This will require work across multiple cross-functional teams in a collaborative manner.

Required qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Experience with analytical and statistical software
Experience using a data science toolkit such as Python or R
Comprehensive level SQL skills
Demonstrated effective analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
In-depth knowledge of core computer science principles including algorithms, data structures, and design methodologies
Prior exposure to cloud-based infrastructures

Ability to work in a team environment
Oral and written skills
Organizational skills
Problem solving abilities
Proficient in Software including Adobe, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
Analytic skills required in business, computer science, engineering, or data science
Ability to analyze a complex problem, gather data, present findings, and make recommendations
Entrepreneurial and controllership skills
Data analytical skills with heavy emphasis on Excel
Knowledge of SAP and/or other general ledger software
