JOB SUMMARY

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for payables, invoicing, claims management and transportation reporting. This individual will report to the Director of Transportation and will have the opportunity to work cross functionally with several departments across the organization.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently lead all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Develop reporting and analytics through tools, portals and databases (Excel, Access, MS, and /or other data management system; audit, process and analyze invoice reports to ensure accuracy and resolve errors.

Interpret tariffs and analyze freight agreements and develop freight payables Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) using appropriate software tools, such as Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint etc.

Engage with cross-functional teams (e.g., Transportation, Accounting, Warehouses) to ensure business processes and rules are aligned, adjusting documentation accordingly.

Provide input for the monthly review of transportation expenses to budget and forecast, and explain variances with data analysis Investigate and perform complex root cause analysis.

Lead training and provide guidance to field analysts on freight processes.

Execute financial processes and reporting, including forecasting/budget, purchasing processes, invoicing.

Perform data analysis, trending and communication of KPI’s and business initiatives.

Provide recommendations for process improvement, assists in the business process design or redesign as well as perform other duties as required.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Demonstrated math skills, analytical and problem solving abilities

Superior personal computer skills in all Office applications; Advanced skills in MS Excel; Access preferred but not required

Verbal, written and inter-personal communications skills

Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines

Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplined teams

Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience

REQUIRED RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE AND NUMBER OF YEARS

Experience supporting warehouse operations or supply chain Corporate environment are preferred - 3-5

Experience in a general office environment, demonstrating a working knowledge of accounting policies and procedures and various automated accounting systems - 3+

Experience with customer contract pricing and rate application and data entry
