Are you passionate about shaping tax strategy and ensuring operational excellence? Step into a pivotal role at Spectrum where your leadership will set the standard for transaction tax compliance and innovation. As Director of Transaction Tax, you will guide strategic planning, make critical decisions and ensure operational targets are met, driving the effective achievement of objectives that are vital to our company’s success.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Review and reconcile tax returns and payments, maintaining comprehensive logs and addressing issues in the outsourcing arrangement
- Develop and maintain compliance databases, responding to data requests and managing the compilation of statistical reports
- Direct research and maintenance of tax and regulatory fee matrices for all business segments, ensuring up-to-date information
- Support business divisions with guidance on tax and regulatory fee matters, answering questions and resolving complex issues
- Oversee special projects related to tax and regulatory fees, conducting research and preparing memoranda

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Experience
- 8+ years of tax and accounting experience
- 5+ years of management experience
Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Access and ERP systems such as PeopleSoft and Vertex
- Strong research, analytical and data interpretation abilities
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written, across all organizational levels
- Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Advanced proficiency with personal computers and standard software applications
- Expertise in resolving technical tax issues and working independently
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a proven track record managing people and projects
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
- Solid knowledge of accounting theory and strategic thinking to anticipate trends and needs
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- CPA license
Experience
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
- Experience in the telecommunications industry
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of ICOMS billing system preferred
