  • You’re a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university:
    • Communications, Journalism
  • This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field.
  • Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027.
  • In addition to role-specific projects, you’ll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

What you can expect in this role  

As a Spectrum intern, you’ll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.

Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.

Internship responsibilities may include:

Support Spectrum's Communications function, including corporate communications, media relations and social media. Work alongside a team that tells the story of Spectrum's products, people and impact across the business. Help execute storytelling tactics across mediums, supporting efforts that reach audiences through earned media, the corporate website, internal platforms and social channels alike.

  • Ideate on proactive storytelling opportunities across the company website, internal channels, media pitches and social platforms.
  • Draft content including press releases, media alerts, pitches, articles and website copy for various platforms and channels.
  • Research and identify new media targets, reporters, publications and outlets, and maintain updated press lists
  • Monitor press coverage and industry news, compiling clip reports and tracking impact.
  • Support proofreading and fact-checking of communications materials.
  • Assist with award nomination and speaking engagement research and drafting.
  • Help prepare executives for speaking engagements and media interviews with briefing materials and talking points.
  • Draft social copy for platforms including Instagram, X, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Present new ideas for social content, from campaign concepts to platform-specific formats and emerging trends.
  • Support social content calendar planning and scheduling.
  • Analyze social performance and report on results.
  • Monitor social channels and flag relevant conversations or trends.


Required qualifications

  • Must be a rising junior or rising senior with an expected graduation date between of May 2028 to May 2029.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interest in public relations, communications or social media.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow style guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to support research and drafting.
